Brisbane indie rock trio Last Dinosaurs announce their KYORYU Australian Tour, kicking off in Adelaide on Friday August 2, followed by stops in Fremantle, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. Before returning to Australian stages, the band will perform at the Aussie BBQ at Summerstage in New York's Central Park alongside Northeast Party House, Sycco, and Thelma Plum, alongside two very special headline shows in New York and Los Angeles.
Marking Last Dinosaurs' first Australian headline tour since December 2022, when they celebrated the release of From Mexico With Love, their August tour dates are in support of their fifth album, KYORYU. Due out next Tuesday May 21, the album brings together their two previous transmissions, November’s RYU and April release KYO, alongside a brand-new track called “Wait Your Turn”.
Over the past decade, Last Dinosaurs have built their following on the road, touring extensively, from their home of Australia to the great white North of Canada, around the world, and back again. In 2023, they embarked on a joint US headline tour with two-time platinum-selling band Vacations, a run of headline dates through Asia, a stop in Mexico, a sold-out headline show in London, and a sold-out one-off headline show in Sydney.
Of their upcoming Australian tour, Last Dinosaurs say, “We’re stoked to announce we're hitting the road in our own backyard! We haven't toured Australia in a hot minute, so we're keen to show our home crowds what we've been cooking up on stage.”
Joining Last Dinosaurs on their Australian tour is very special guest, New Zealand’s FAZERDAZE. Fazerdaze is the dream-pop project of Ōtautahi based musician, songwriter and producer Amelia Murray. Renowned for her unique blend of bedroom pop and grungy shoegaze influence, Fazerdaze was last Down Under in September and October touring with NIKI and DMA’s, alongside performances at Yours & Owls Festival and SXSW Sydney, following the release of her single “Bigger”.
