The Violets bring their enigmatic, brooding sound into the 21st century, with their first live show in over 20 years at The Gov, Friday August 29.
The Violets enjoyed much airtime on JJJ & SAFM, back in the 90s – with songs like Somewhere, Mary Who? & Sleeping Eyes. They played many coveted live slots during that time. Opening act for two ‘Big Day Out’ festivals, tours with Died Pretty, Stella One Eleven and supports for The Cruel Sea, Spiderbait, The Fauves and many others during the heyday of Australian music in the 1990s.
2025 sees the band back in the studio to work on their 4th long-player. Previous releases have had the golden touches of Tony Cohen (Nick Cave, The Cruel Sea) & Chris Dickie (Depeche Mode, Sinead O’Connor).
This upcoming release promises to offer some of their finest material to date.
