Adelaide Fringe Festival presents
Adelaide Ukelele Appreciation Society
The Gov - The Venue (Hindmarsh, SA)
Wednesday, 19 March 2025 7:30 pm
For 15 years AUAS has been SA's original uke club, boasting an eclectic community who play a feast of songs from across the ukulele universe. This concert showcases the great music that can come from the humble instrument, and is steered by well-known local muso Richard Tonkin.
AUAS celebrate people coming together to share music, ensuring lots of fun and good times. Ranging from teens to performers in their 70s, many had never played an instrument before learning "the flea" and have honed their skills at regular weekly sessions, developing friendships that shine through their performances.
Previously playing at various music festivals across SA, and being featured in the Adelaide Festival's Adelaide Citizens' Orchestra, this is the first time the AUAS present a Fringe Event.
